Hope you had a great Christmas for those who celebrate. I’ve mostly been catching up on anime from this year that I keep saying I’ll watch but never get round to and playing super cheap games from the Steam Sale. This’ll be my last post of the year so might as well wish you all a happy new year too. Today I’m going to look at my latest figure acquisition – Chouun Shiryu Black Ver. by Zigz Toys. Chouun here is more than a simple recoloured version of Zigz Toys original Chouun Shiryu released back in October of 2009. There are also slight improvements to her sculpt, base and construction. Read on to see more of Chouun and how she compares to her original white version of 2009.

Today I’ve decided to push my backlog of ‘stuff to blog about’ even further back to allow me to show you all one of my latest figures. I doubt many people will have picked her up so I decided she is worth showing off sooner. This is Kanu Unchou Swimsuit ver. from anime/VN Koihime Musou created by Chara-ani. I hear you ‘Oh noes not another swimsuit figure’, ah, but this swimsuit figure has a neat little trick up her sleeve-less sleeves.

Ryofu (Ren) by FREEing, with added D3100-ness

Woah, it’s almost been a full month since my last post. I’m so out of touch with everything at the moment – 3DS is out tomorrow and I’ve only just noticed. Today I decided to do absolutely nothing for uni since I’ve been in 9am to 7pm most days now just doing coursework (almost finished yay).

During the past month I’ve been hoarding various goodies that I can at last sit down and play with properly. One of these goodies is a shiny Nikon D3100 DSLR, which today is the first opportunity I’ve had to set up a photo shoot for. My subject – Koihime Musous’ Ryofu. I did a review of her way back in ’09 (O.O) and the pictures look terrible, so this was not only an opportunity to play with my camera but also revisit a poorly done review. I’m also going to talk a bit about my experience with the D3100 so far (which is also my first SLR experience).

Koihime Musou Visual Novel Released! + School Days HQ announced

Yay it’s finally here. Koihime Musou ~A Heart-Throbbing, Maidenly Romance of the Three Kingdoms~ is available for purchase at the MangaGamer website now.

Please note there are currently no voices in the game. In order for MangaGamer to release them a target of 2000 copies sold needs to be reached. You can check the sales status from the MangaGamer twitter page.

A “little” February update

I’m probably not going to have much time (or content by the looks of things) to write any other posts for the rest of February so I’ve decided to post about some of my recent goodies. They’re nothing exciting, just a few DVDs and little trading figures. Also with the recent burst of figure news from Winter Wonfest ’11 I thought I’d post about the figures that caught my attention. So this post will be in three sections – Trading Figures, DVDs, and Winter WF ’11.

I’ll try my best to make my way round the blogs I usually visit, although it looks like weekends will be the only chance I’ll have to write comments. I don’t think I’ve ever been this busy before, I’ve pretty much had to put all the anime I’m watching on hold. I’m hoping March will become a little quieter .

More Koihime Musou figures, always a good thing, and by Zigz Toys too. I’ve had Sousou since Sunday and have been slowly taking pictures and editing them throughout the week. I normally do everything in one go, but I’ve had the most annoying cough which keeps forcing me to stop what I’m doing. I’ve yet to find a review of this Sousou even on Akiba Hobby – they usually have links to reviews quite fast too.

Miyazawa Model Exhibition 2010 was held 16/03/10 where various figure manufacturers get together for business only event. But what really caught my eye here was the various Koihime Musou figures Zigz appear to be working on.
