Benisu by Good Smile Company
Today I’m going to review one of my “not very exciting” figures. Benisu (or Venice/Venis as some may know her) is a character from the Visual Novel They are my Noble Masters (or Kimiaru or Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de), which has also been adapted into an anime. The figure is made by Good Smile Company and was sculpted by Houjun Otoyama.
I’ve always been after a Benisu figure for my collection, as she is one of my all time favourite anime characters. In the anime she is the head maid in the Kuonji family house, and Shinra Kuonjis’ personal assistant (read as play thing). She is a hot tempered character and very protective over Shinra; but we also get to see a delicate and sweet side to this character in the anime series.
Anyway… I decided to get this figure when I saw it going very cheap on eBay. I also bought the Dakimakura – featuring Shinra and Benisu – that came bundled with the limited edition Vol 1 DVD in Japan at the same time as buying this figure. I’ve always been interested in buying this figure since its release back in July 2008 (roughly around the time I started buying & collecting figures); but the price never really made me go “must buy”.
Sadly this figure is very plain and uninteresting. They have not managed to capture the characters personality I feel. For such a lively and explosive character to look so bland is a real shame. However I will say she is beautifully sculpted and accurately captures Benisus’ facial features, although her face could perhaps been a little bit longer?
Here you can see the rather majestic looking box she comes packaged in.
Here is a rather uninteresting white base.
360 view of Benisu.
Face close up.
When I first got this figure I sort of knew you could remove some part of the skirt. I’d never actually seen any pictures of this though. Sadly, however, even the removable skirt is uninteresting and lacks character. In order to remove her skirt you must pull her apart like a cracker.
Boots on a maid? O.O Perfect for kicking unsuspecting perverted butlers.
Put back together without skirt.
Benisus’ trade mark frilly red pantsu.
Overall I am disappointed with this figure. She could have been so much more lively and interesting to look at. However she is a beautiful sculpture and a worthwhile addition to my collection.

I’m not familiar with Benisu or the Visual Novel she’s from but she’s a lovely figure ^^. The thing that stand out to me is her face; especially her pretty eyes.
Nice review and lovely pictures!
Thanks.
I’m really pleased with how some of the photos turned out. I also found out how to not use the “auto” function on my camera, so that helped quite a bit.
